Fantasy is what I live for. I spend half my time living in my own little bubble filled with elves, goblins, trolls and fairies!
I also read alot of fantasy books, folklore and watch alot of fantasy films, and try…to write my own stuff, altho thats a VERY slow process…..anyhows, I had another art exhibition coming up and decided to combine my interrests and “Battle Fairy” was born. I wanted to mix the traditional view of fairies as being diminutive and frail creatures, and the stereotypical view people have of “fairies” when used to describe gay people and combine them to make something new. Another way of looking at fairies, making them as big as elves and warlike, but keeping them exotic and colourful.
I also wanted to equipp them with “fairy” weapons and imagined a world with different rules than ours, a magical land were plastic is the deadliest weapon. Thus I added plastic waterguns to the look.
This project is very much still under construction as I have only one whole costume atm.
